Review of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) by Rob C — 14 Dec 2018
This movie is a visual treat to watch. I almost wish I could take this film back in time and show to animators of the 80s and 90s just to watch their heads explode as they try to figure out how it was done.
Storytelling is well paced and thankfully treats the audience as one that is well acquainted with the idea of Spider-Man. It explains what absolutely needs explaining and rushes past the rest, making the proper assumption that the audience can keep up.
For the comic nerds there is a wealth of easter eggs and references. It's also nice to see some of the lesser-known Spidey villains getting some screen time. I mean... Tombstone? The Prowler? Don't be a schmuck and walk out before the credits are done or you will miss one of the best laughs from the cinema this year.
