Review of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) by Shibboreth — 24 Sep 2017
Homecoming is spider-man coming back to its roots. It wisely skips the origin story (who doesn't know how spider-man got his powers already?) but still starts near the beginning of Peter's spider-man career so we get to watch him learn and stumble.
It's a super-hero movie with a lot of heart and humor, that avoids some of the pitfalls common to the genre. In particular, it has a protagonist who's imperfect, relatable, and not simply invincible.
