Review of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) by Skykappah — 18 Jul 2017
Homecoming is a continuation after the events in Civil War and really can't be compared to the past Spider-Man films. Tonally it's completely different and it seems to be aimed at high schoolers rather than an all encompassing age group.
And so I felt a bit old watching it. It's very, very family friendly and seems like a live action version of the recent Disney Spider-Man cartoons. Story-wise... it brings utterly nothing new to the table.
.. It's the same as all the rest of the Spider-Movies, even down to the now, prerequisite grand rescue of civilians in trouble. And lastly... No spidey senses!!! Really!! Muhammad Ali without his snappy banter.
.. A tiger without it's stripes... Silver without shine... A very scandalous move on the writers part. Though all in all.. being a Spider-Man fan... I did have a good time, not excellent but good.
