Review of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) by Elizaveta S — 23 Jul 2017
I always judge super hero movies a bit differently; sort of, in comparison to other super hero movies. No one expects them to be Oscar worthy masterpieces(well, except obviously Dark Knight), so if I say "it's a good super hero movie, I don't mean isn't a good movie overall".
Despite that, in my opinion Spider Man: Homecoming is a bad super hero movie. I would say I was surprised, that it has such a high rating. It was plain boring: with expected humor, ruff non-understandable action scenes and abdalutely stupid plot twist, if you can eventually call it a plot twist.
I think it's a bad introduction movie for a new spider man character, and it's not the actors' fault. The script was poor; I honestly thought I've watched some teen rom-com from early two-thousands...a really bad one as well. It was an absolute waste of money, with tacky jokes, and, and that "friends call me MJ" thing....goth that annoyed my for some unknown reason.
This movie lacked something other Marvel movies (especially the Avengers) have too much of: action scenes. If this movie at least had some good old "Iron man" humor, instead of Hannah Montana jokes, it would've passed for me.
I'm giving this movie two stars instead of one just because I liked the actor (even though he looks way older, than 15); the Birdman was cool too...
P.S.
Tobey Maguire forever.
