Review of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) by Aaron S — 16 Jul 2017
As a Spiderman fan, I really did enjoy the other movies. Sure tgey didn't have great stories and/or scripts but they were at least entertaining. That being said, I think Tom Holland proves that he is the best at playing both Peter Parker and Spider-Man where maybe Tobey was a really good Peter but not Spiderman and Andrew was a really good Spiderman but not Peter.
Spiderman Homecoming is a very entertaining movie, a very good script and an excellent villain. This movie is about spectacle. There are no fight scenes that live up to a lot of the other Marvel movies, but this movie isn't trying to capture that.
This is a high school story about high school kids. And the director nails that. Ned Leeds steals the show when he is on screen. Michael Keaton is a too tier villain in the MCU. Tom Holland is excellent at being an awkward teenager still learning to cope with his powers and the responsibility that comes with it.
Very excited for the sequels!
