Review of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) by Crow S — 14 Jul 2017

Short Version: Raimi's first two are still the best two.

Homecoming does a lot right, and Holland is great as Parker. Unfortunately, this looks more like Sony wanted to tell the story of "Iron Man Jr." than Spider-Man. Severely disappointing for me, as the cameo in Civil War looked like a perfect match for the Spider-Man comics I read as a kid. Peter Parker talking with an A.I. in his suit? Electrified webshooters? Parker's existence and success nearly wholly derived from Stark's generosity?

I didn't buy a ticket to Iron Man IV.
