Review of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) by Scott H — 17 Jul 2017
This is why every non Marvel franchise should return to Marvel! They clearly know how to stay true to the source material and adapt it properly. This is the Spider-Man film that fans have been waiting for.
Picking up after Civil War we find Peter longing to get back into the swing (pun intended) of things and help the Avengers on another mission, but under the wing of Tony Stark, he needs to learn a few things before that happens again.
What makes this film so dam good is the character development of Peter Parker, his journey is full of ups and downs and Tom Hollands performance is truly wonderful. But scenes get stolen from him by the legendary Michael Keaton who brings a complex villain in the Vulture, you completely understand his reasons for why he's doing what he does and brings probably the best bad guy since Loki.
The action scenes are great if a little short but enjoyable and theres a few surprises along the way. Make sure you stay for the 2 end credit scenes, the final one is Marvel at its finest. See it and buy it, its worth the money!
