Review of Spider-Man 3 (2007) by Andrew H — 06 May 2014

There are a lot of things that Spider-Man 3 does right, but the things it does wrong heavily outweighs them. With 3 villains to focus on this time around, it can get a little clustered at times. More action is not always a bad thing, but here it just seems unnecessary at times (*cough* Venom *cough*).

The film has a hard time handling all of the action and all of the drama that's going on. Sometimes, it has a nice emotional impact. Other times, it gets to a point where you just say, "Who cares?" Overall, I did enjoy the majority of the film.

The constant battle between Spidey and the symbiote suit is actually pretty interesting. And the Sandman inclusion as the true killer of Uncle Ben is great too. But I feel like the film should've left Venom out for another time.

And a certain dance number should have never existed. Seriously, who thought that was a good idea? I constantly have a love/hate relationship with Spider-Man 3. But what it all comes down to is that I was mostly entertained.

It's not a great end to the trilogy, but it can still be pretty fun to watch.
