Review of Spider-Man 2 (2004) by Lovro H — 26 Apr 2015
_REWATCH REVIEW_.
Rarely is there a case of a superior sequel, but this movie is just that. Superior! It centers more around the characters and their motivation, and because of that we start to get attached to not just the good guys, but also the bad guys. The soundtrack is again amazing, especially that nostalgic theme song which always gets me pumped up for the movie! The CGI is somewhat better, although at some scenes it's still fairly visible that the actors have been replaced by an animation, especially in the train scene, which was just awesome and intense! The story is interesting and we get a deeper look at Harry Osborn and that ending is just perfect. Mary Jane still doesn't really fascinate me as a character, but Peter Parker is given more time as Peter in this movie, rather than Spider-Man, and that really helps with the characterisation. All in all, a very exciting and entertaining superhero movie, with some uninteresting characters, but the story and the fun factor help a lot, and this is a must-see for fans, and newcomers as well!
