Review of Spider-Man (1977) by Ken S — 31 Jan 2015
Didn't we just do this? I don't need yet another 45 minute origin tale for Spider-Man...I know it, because it just happened and was a major hit film and EVERYONE knows how he became Spider-Man.
Why not just make a new Spider-Man movie. Screw continuity...just tell whatever Spider-Man story you want, I don't have to see Andrew Garfield get bit by the Spider to believe he is Spider-Man. The new Spidey Suit is over-designed, it looks bad.
The CGI for the Lizard is awful, and didn't convince me he was anything more than a cartoon the whole time. THe Lizard's plan is also hackneyed and cliched at this point in comic book movie history.
The love story isn't engaging...there are decent elements in this...but just not enough to keep me interested, I preferred the Raimi movies. Luckily I don't have to worry...they will reboot this any day now.
