Negs: The scariest things come from perception, imagination, fear -all from the mind. And this is why the novel was much more intense, frightening than the movie. A bit long; could have dispensed with some of the extensive underwater montages in which nothing happened.
Pluses: Amazing cast, decent acting. Interesting story (but that's mostly thanks to the novel/Crichton). I read the book in middle school, and now, three weeks from graduation, I have seen the movie. Looks like I've regressed :).
