Just so you know, a lot of the kids in this movie have a Facebook account (does that make me creepy?). For a meek G-rated documentary this is more intense than many R-rated movies. Some of the 8 kids you absolutely can't stand while others you just have to root for.
The film spends about 50 minutes of its runtime introducing you to the kids that they'd follow through the bee and they probably could have spent half that time on it and gotten immediately to the good stuff.
The problem with that was many of them were eliminated early on, making the five or six minutes spent on them feel like a waste.
