Review of Speed Racer (2008) by Kyle S — 07 Dec 2010

I felt like I was watching a combination of a Nick Junior show, Reboot, and Tim and Eric Awesome Show a majority of the time. And I don't mean that in a good way. It's not trying to be realistic at all, so it all just feels very fake and even dated much of the time.

That said, the second half of the film was much better than the first, I thought the team racing stuff was pretty cool, and the fight scene with the ninjas was easily the best. Oh, and in spite of all the negative, I was still able to connect with Speed as a character, which is saying something.

I hated, hated, HATED the little brother with a fiery passion.
