Review of Speed Racer (2008) by Heather G — 10 Aug 2014

When I first saw this movie my first thought was, this movie is extremly cheesy! but as I paid close attention, and looked past the stupid monkey and the anoying brother, I realized that thins movie has alot of heart and soul in it that makes it a very satisfying movie to watch! okay, now I agree that there is some problems with this movie along with the fact that they don't have a very proment story line that movies the acual story seem weak and the try at the futureistic feel but them miserbly failing, and the coninual stupid-comic-book scenes that make you groan, but I still think that people need to give this movie a chance! I think that susan sarandon did a WONDERFUL job at playing that protective but supportive mom that helpped speed get his insperstion in the end, and that mattew fox also did a good job at playing racer X/rex racer and the supportive brother that helped by the sidelines and cheered speed on even though he might not have reconized it at first.

and I loved the way they portrayed the racing , as fast, colorful, and in a way that made my pulse quicken. I think they could have maybe could have eased off on the protective dad that wouldn't take any chances with speed even though speed was in one of the most dangerous sports ever and might die even on one of the so-called easy track races.

if I were to make this movie over again, I would take out some of the more unrealistic special affects and I wouldn't give it the comice book feel. also, I would stray more from the cartoon and the comic because the only reason some people don't watch this movie is because they watched the cartoon and thought that it was cheesy and stupid.

but I think that they put just the right amount of cheesy in this movie that it is funny for little kids and light hearted for adults. all I say is, just TRY watching this movie, if you don't like it, you don't like it.

but I think that speed racer is a movie that didn't make me feel like they were dragging their feet. I really enjoyed this Wachowski Brother's film.
