Review of Speed Racer (2008) by Kitf. — 09 May 2008
Easily everything it should be. If the narrative or story was stronger, it wouldn't be Speed Racer anymore. It is by far the closest representation of a licensed-property-made-movie since Batman Begins.
It uses the most subliminal mix of color and sound to evoke emotion, leaving behind the speedy exposition of the original show. Some of the humor is hit-or-miss, hitting as often as it misses, but the action is absolutely enthralling.
This is definitely not a movie to be missed in theaters, and is going to make a spectacular Blu-ray.
