Lets get the obvious out of the way. Sandra Bullock is amazingly beautiful in Speed. A young Keanu Reeves is actually handsome and the movie premise of a bombed-up bus is stupid. So much in fact that it inspired such classics as Flight Plan and Phone Booth (note the sarcasm!).
The not so obvious: as a brainless action film "Speed" is actually quite good. I'm your face action, lots of crashes and all that fun stuff. There's no cheesy dialogue, just in your face runaway action euphoria.
