Review of Spectacular! (2009) by Kate R — 20 Feb 2009

So Nick has finally decided to take a stab at the Disney musical formula, and the result is actually pretty entertaining. The story? Awful. Well, okay, writing a story entirely based on a show choir is actually pretty unique, and I applaud them for that.

But this movie is basically High School Musical meets School of Rock. The songs are actually better than HSM and Camp Rock, but they still resort to the awkward bob choreography that has plagued the recent so called "performance based" musicals.

Nevertheless, Nick has made a decent jump into the musical pool, and I can't wait to see what they come up with next!
