Really entertaining war action drama. Wondering if it is worth to send soldiers to rescue an innocent citizen without proper preparation just because the president wants immediate action. Movie open with a group of soldiers led by Djimon Hounsou on a mission to kill and rescue.

Back home, his boys and friend Denis Menochet attend his birthday celebration. Denis girlfriend want to live together. Mean time in Pakistan, Diane Kruger is a french journalist interview a local woman, who tells her the sad story and hope she can help.

But the local warlord already found out about their meetings and the woman warn Diane. Her local contact Mehdi Nebbou save her but they are caught by the Taliban led by Raz Degan. Djimon and gang are activated for duty.

They are doing a recon mission only on the stronghold of Raz. Joining the team are sniper Raphaël Personnaz, Benoît Magimel, Alain Figlarz and Alain Alivon. French president want to mission to begin quick.

The admiral Tchéky Karyo change the recon to rescue mission. The team swiftly rescue Diane and Mehdi out and soon the baddies are all over the area. Raz meet the spiritual leader and he wants him to do what is right for their good by killing the woman who tell the story.

When he return, he want to kill Diane no matter what for pride. The team couldn't get to the rescue point because the terrorist are chasing. Along the way they keep running and fighting, the terrorist keep coming and increasing.

Djimon says the only way is cross border to Afghanistan. Up the mountains with food and shelter needed, they seek help at a small village. Just as they were laughing and enjoying their break, Alivon is shot in the head by a sniper.

Raphaël hunt the sniper and kills him. They quickly depart from there but Mehdi stay to fight the baddies. The villagers will die for helping them. Denis don't want to return but Djimon says they should play humanitarian.

Raz kill the village chief and rampage the place. Figlarz is injured and Mehdi is kill by Raz. Raphaël stay put to hold the baddies while the rest carry Figlarz and run off. Climbing higher up the mountains and in freezing snow weather, Figlarz died.

Raphaël run but the baddies just keep on chasing. He is killed as well. Denis is breaking down and question Djimon. He tell Denis to survive and return home to take care of his pregnant girlfriend. The surviving quartet finally descend out of the snow down hill.

Then suddenly the baddies seemingly anticipated their path and launch attack. Benoît is injured and Denis is killed. Raz caught Diane and hold her hostage, Djimon easily and swiftly kill him accurately.

The trio continue and make it across the border but Djimon is injured by falling rocks. They tell Diane to go on without them and she must make it or else all the effort will be wasted. Diane alone left reluctantly and also can't last.

Unconscious lying on the desert, a truck pass by and she is rescue by the army. She refuse to leave and want to see the duo been rescue. Tchéky bring her onboard the chopper and search for the duo. Luckily they didn't die and rescued.
