Review of Speak (2004) by Emily B — 10 Dec 2005
:fresh: I read 'Speak' several years ago and it is just wonderful! It is such a moving and beautiful book. Anyway, the other day on "On Demand" I saw 'Speak' on the list and was curious; it must have gone straight to DVD because I had no recollection of seeing any previews for it (and it was from 2005) and because of this, I was skeptical and assumed it would be some cheesy adaptation that butchered the book.
But to my astonishment, the movie truly did the book justice! There was wonderful cinematography and all of the actors were great. It is really a touching movie and I would absolutely recommend it!
