Review of Spartacus (1960) by Corey H — 12 Jan 2009
This rousing, action-packed Roman epic is unmatched in the genre. Born of Kirk Douglas' failure to win the title role in William Wyler's Oscar-feted Ben Hur, this iconic piece of cinema benefits hugely from having Stanley Kubrick at the helm.
A true classic.
