Review of Spartacus (1960) by Max S — 08 Jun 2009
A genuine monster of a film including some great performances (not least Charles Laughton). With the full version clocking at a massive 195minutes, it's an old school epic. Not Kubrick's finest work, but still a damn sight better than most directors could have managed.
A true classic that should be seen if only as an education in cinema; this film has been references and parodied so many times it is ingrained in history forever.
