As far as epics go, this is as epic as you can get; a great tale told masterfully through the work of Kubrick. Kirk Douglas plays a believable Spartacus who battles his way through slavery, and moves the audience along with him. Highly emotiional at times, you really feel for the slaves and pray for their freedom. Though not as intense as it could have been, the film packs so much emotion and feeling into it, that you cant help being affected by it. The ending too beautifully finishes off an already incredible film, and epically reminds us of the frailty of humankind.
