Review of Spartacus (1960) by Pascal V — 27 Nov 2010
This film is damn epic. And that's why I love it. Douglas's performance is really great. The supporting cast is mediocre, but still good.
The film seemed like a masterpice for the first half. But after the intermission, the movie started to get boring and you stop caring about the characters.
But still, the battle scenes were good and the costumes obviously very detailed and very beautiful to look at. I remember one scene, after the big battle. We see the corpses lying on the battlefield. That one shot was so beautiful. It showed the future genius of a Stanley Kubrick!
