Review of Spartacus (1960) by Brian K — 12 Jul 2012
2/19/01 - Seeing as how I like Braveheart and Gladiator so much, I thought I would rent Spartacus. Spartacus is based on a true story about a Roman slave/gladiator who starts a slave revolt to fight for freedom.
You can definitely see where Braveheart and Gladiator both borrow a lot from Spartacus. The movie itself is good, though not as good as the two more recent ones. And there is a bit of 60's cheesiness thrown in, but not too much.
