Review of Sparkle (2012) by Annie W — 18 Aug 2012

The acting was awful except for Carmen Ejogo who took the lead and made the movie somewhat interesting. The movie was full of plot holes and they continually hinted but didn't deliver on many different subjects.

Whitney Houston's character we were told over and over was crazy...but it was never shown? That would have been epic, she could have delivered crazy but wasn't asked to. We are meant to believe that the lead role is Jordin Sparks who clearly wasn't ready for it, but she also wasn't given anything until the last 5 minutes of the movie? It just felt like it was edited heavily but still too long.
