R.I.P. Whitney Elizabeth Houston (August 9, 1963 - February 11, 2012).
Remake didn't live up to the original. I was surprised how emotional it was to see Whitney on the big screen screen for the last time. Disappointed that TVOne or BET didn't show the original Sparkle movie -- if they showed it, I missed out :( Pleasantly surprised with Michael Epps and Tikia Sumpter's stand-out performances. Amazed that Satin's dialog didn't gloss over stereotypical, derogatory references to African Americans. Satin took it "there" and beyond.
