Review of Space Cowboys (2000) by Jc E — 14 Jan 2011
In his long list of acting-directing movies, this one merely falls into the okay movies by Clint Eastwood (Gran Torino). Granted, it's not his direction or his acting that shortchange this movie, but rather the lackluster plot.
Sure, after John Glenn went back into space at the age of 77, it was plausible for men Eastwood's age to want to do it again, but the Cold War relic plot just got a little out of hand. However, it's quite funny in parts, and having James Garner (Battle for Terra), Donald Sutherland (Backdraft), and Tommy Lee Jones (Lonesome Dove) along for the ride makes it worth the viewing.
