Review of Soylent Green (1973) by Ce G — 09 May 2009
Classic sci-fi from the seventies, set in NYC in 2022. It is a dystopian nightmare in a world where daily food come from the corpses. The first time I saw it, it did not impress me that much. I finally got to see in a theater, and I have to reconsider the whole movie.
There is an interesting work on spaces, and mass scenes, and some moments are brilliantly orchestrated (think of E. G. Robinson's death). This time I found it far more interesting visually speaking, an experience.
