Review of Soylent Green (1973) by Kevin H — 20 Apr 2009
It's people by the way...just in case you didn't know or didn't see it coming. Soylent Green is a run of the mill sci-fi adventure with Charlton Heston chewing the scenery when Chuck Connors isn't and a semi-decent story.
The effects are laughable and the script is kind of weak and to be honest, the film itself is not very good. What is good is the excellent performance from Edward G. Robinson (in his last role) and his death scene, which is easily one of the most memorable scenes I have ever witnessed in any film.
..which says a lot considering how many I have seen. This scene alone is worth sitting through the entire movie.
