Review of Soylent Green (1973) by Andrew B — 30 Jan 2012
Like this movie or not, this is a pretty amazing projection to what the future has become. 1973 having ear buds, 40' screens, overpopulation issues, environmental issues, food shortages, dependence on a single food diet, harvesting organs from the elderly, state assisted suicide, civilian curfews, and civilian based police working on commission.
This movie opens your mind to what we can slip into, and being made in 1973, it made some point on predictions. I wish that they would recreate this movie in our time, but I doubt it'll happen in the cookie cutter remake world we live in now.
Who out there has the foresight to give us a look at the next 40 years? Predictions anyone?
