Review of Southpaw (2015) by Farhanfiroz — 01 Oct 2015
The movie is great but not perfect. Jack gyllenhaal gives an outstanding performance and we can see that he gave his best in physique and acting. It is an Oscar worthy performance but highly doubtful weather will be nominated due to the other flaws with the movie. The fight scenes were beautifully shot. The fights had intensity with it. The sound effects were great. The biggest problem with the movie was the boxing Cliche. Its almost similar to rocky 3. The training montage wasn't big enough and the bond between Jake's and Forest's cha racters wasn't shown enough in the training montage.The whole movie was shown in the trailer.
In the end Southpaw is a must see movie for gyllenhaal's performance but don't expect anything new to the boxing genre.
