Review of Southpaw (2015) by Jacob T — 20 Jun 2017
I am a bit surprised at how low critics rated this. While it does have a very similar cinematic story line on the boxing side and the familial redemption side, I admire the fusion of the two into a singular tale, in fact the father daughter relationship is what actually carries the film.
That, and the spectacular cast of Gyllenhaal, Whitaker, and Laurence.
