Review of Southern Comfort (1981) by Rocknblues 8 — 02 Oct 2008
Deliverance style film about nine National Guardsmen that go down to Louisiana for a training exercise. Things get out of hand when they offend some locals by stealing their boats and firing blank rounds at them.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------.
Pretty simply and action film with a bunch of macho guardsmen that breakout after being hunted by locals seeking revenge. The acting isn't that good other than Powers Boothe who gives a decent performance. The movie has bits of humor that don't really work and the movie doesn't create any real tension. It doesn't help that none of the characters are interesting or worth rooting for.
4/10.
