2: An engaging story, but I can't say it is a great film. Burt Lancaster gives an adequate performance, but what struck me most about the picture was the fact that modest backlot sets were sufficient to give one the sense of a faraway place.
It isn't an authentic feel, but it works just the same. All in all a pretty silly but somehow entertaining film.
