Review of South Pacific (1958) by Mandi M — 18 Apr 2008
A film that is a delight to the senses and really is something to behold.
The musical was ahead of its time and its premise regarding prejudice and racism was considered quite controversial and not everyone was pleased.
Musically, it is a beautiful score and the tunes are timeless. Mitzi Gaynor is ever so lovely and France Nuyen's beauty is breathtaking.
One of my favourite musicals of all time.
