Review of Source Code (2011) by Nathan L — 18 May 2013
Source Code is a mind bending thriller that is intriguing and suspenseful all wrapped up in a simple and short premise. It is a quick movie and really hits the ground running. It takes some time to develop the story, but once things are explained, it makes for quite intriguing plot that might leave you rethinking your life through.
The character development is minimal for even Gyllenhaal's character and the others are even less developed, but it doesn't pull the film down since it is short and simple. It's quite engaging nearly the entire 87 minutes, and the repetitive nature of the film is managed well and doesn't degrade the value of each round (if you don't know what I'm talking about, you will if you watch).
I personally thought the ending was a little cheesy, but it didn't ruin the movie. Overall, Source Code was a quick, interesting, and engaging film that will leave you thinking about life a little differently.
