Review of Soul Food (1997) by Jazzmine J — 27 Dec 2007
An insightful, funny, and emotional account of an African-American family's post-parent death struggles and connection through food. Although too melodramatic to be anything transcending, the movie is still solid because of its positive messages about family bonds and human spirit resiliency.
I wouldn't highly recommend it, yet I wouldn't discourage it either.
