Review of Soul Food (1997) by Dan L — 04 Dec 2008
Watched it on cable today again. I, of course, saw it when it came out and wasn't that impressed. It's gotten better with age, as I think its a far stronger movie than many of the recently released films centering on black families and communities.
Not much good acting but a sincere depiction of complicated families and what happens to big families when the central organizing figure dies or gets sick.
