Pretty terrific. A treat for anyone into visual imagination. Much better and less draggy 2nd act than Inside Out. The Redbox version I got had the director's commentary track. The commentary makes clear how many story changes occurred and how the audience is to decide what Joe choses to do when he comes back to Earth.
Reincarnation is by no means the main theme here. Rather it ends in a very big Zen place John Lennon famously described as, Life is what happens to you while you are making other plans." I was thrilled to see the movie have an all black cast and turn this into a visual asset again and again.
Jamie Foxx is astounding as usual. Jon Baptiste is the main musician. Three cheers I say.
