I've heard a lot of criticism that this movie tries to tackle too many different ideas and comes out a mess. I disagree! Boots Riley is demonstrating how many overwhelming, pervasive, disparate-seeming problems in our society actually stem from the same fixable root.

It's weird and wonderful, and even its most bizarre twists remain laser-focused on the underlying truth of the worker/employer relationship. This film is disturbing and inspiring, and unlike many films which aim for social commentary, offers actual solutions.
