Review of Sorry to Bother You (2018) by Elpaisa24 . — 15 Jul 2018
Sorry To Bother You is a comedy that turns dark out of nowhere and probably has one of the weirdest twists I've ever seen in cinema. It is a story of "your dignity vs personal riches" inside an over the top "future" world of how ridiculous our society can be about politics, work, race music, media, etc.
Lots of symbolic situations here. I mean the basic premise is an African American man learns to use his "white voice" to become a powerful telemarketer. I laughed a lot, but I could also see come people hating on the movie, especially if they disagree with the political message here.
The cast was fun to watch, especially Danny Glover (in his few scenes) and you will either love or hate Tessa Thompson's character. I could also see people hating the movie because of the ridiculous twist.
I myself was entertained. Final Review: 7 out of 10.
