Review of Sorry to Bother You (2018) by Phyllis C — 17 Jul 2018

Whew. This was bad. Love that Black artists are foraging out into unexpected mediums and styles. I assume this was to be a sort of "Get Out" combo of Black issues and sci-fi. I'm Black and a senior (65), but I don't think either weighed in on my less than sparkling review.

The piece seemed uneven (probably due to editing issues), a bit corny (the horse-men were almost 1960s in design) and the plot could be both predictable and uninteresting, which made it feel like a loooong movie.

I went to see the movie because of all the sparkling reviews. What did I miss?
