Review of Sordid Lives (2000) by B.w. S — 20 Nov 2007
I'm not sure the adaptation from stage to screen was seamless (the direction/editing was at times pretty amateurish), and certain parts of the story require a pretty big suspension of disbelief. The film is saved by an extremely likable cast and a handful of geniuinely funny and/or touching moments.
Particularly noteworthy is the pictch-perfect performance of Beth Grant (of Donie Darko fame.).
