Review of Sophie's Choice (1982) by Brian M — 11 Nov 2007
The movie has a few flaws, particularly in the narration, but any fault is completely overwhelmed by Meryl Streep's unbelievable performance. She goes to the most extreme, raw, emotional depths I have ever seen, while always being completely truthful.
Kevin Kline is exceptional as well, but see this movie for Streep, giving possibly the greatest performance ever captured on film.
