Review of Sophie's Choice (1982) by Edmarc H — 12 Nov 2007

Meryl Streep gives a tour de force performance (I've always wanted to say that!), one so powerful that you are able to overlook whatever flaws (i.e. awkward editing) the movie has. Also, the titular scene -- from the moment you realize what it is to the second the sound finally fades after it lingers into the next scene, past the cut -- just leaves you so drained.
