Review of Sophie's Choice (1982) by Dana K — 26 Jun 2008
This movie (along with French Lieutenant's Woman) determines Meryl Streep as one of the greatest actors of all time. This is one of the most heartbreaking performances ever. And the movie has one of the most shocking and heartwrenching climax scenes ever.
What I'm speaking of is the final 'choice' scene (I won't reveal anything, just know it's absolutely breathtaking.) I haven't cried in a movie in a very long time, but this one got me kinda teary.
Nearly flawless performance from Meryl Streep, and all around a wonderful movie.
