This movie is as close to a prayer as they come. Perhaps it's our knowledge of Sophie Scholl's fate that weights every second of Julia Jentsch's performance with meaning and mindfulness. Still, I prefer to think this is how Sophie really was: cheeky yet deliberate, serene and supremely human.
