Review of Sophie Scholl: The Final Days (2005) by Phil W — 09 Oct 2007
It's very interesting, and it sports a great cast, but it makes you wonder just how much resonance Scholl and the White Rose actually has in the long run. I found myself agreeing more with the communist prisoner who thinks that laying low until she is released from prison is a more effective way of combating the Nazis.
Scholl fights the good fight, but rather blindly and stubbornly. Still, it's an effective and intimate movie.
