Review of Sophie Scholl: The Final Days (2005) by Charles C — 12 Mar 2008
Absolutely Amazing Film! I cried and I hung on the edge of my seat. Julia Jentsch (Who actually looks like the real Sophie Scholl) is simply surreal in her role. She is a complex figure whose fibers that comprise her untangle as the film progresses.
Gerald Alexander Held is quite a psychological villain as Interrogator/Inspector Mohr. The inquiry scene is just stunning. The conflict between humanity and barbarism is a subtle and psychological one; where logic is the major weapon.
I have watched this film four times in the past week. It is a masterpiece; I cannot identify any flaws.
