Review of Sophie Scholl: The Final Days (2005) by Jan K — 30 Dec 2009
At first I thought it was a bit odd to make a movie about the last days of a woman I've never heard about. But it turned out to be an engaging story. The best part by far is when she and her brother is in the courthouse defending their resistance to the Nazi regime. One can sense that at that time, February 1943, quite a few Nazis were starting to realize that their days were numbered. As Sophie says when she is leaving the courtroom: "Today it is us that will hang, tomorrow it will be you".
A well-made movie, and a great tribute to a great person.
